Studio Policies and Practices
Enrollment:
To complete enrollment, please refer to the instructions below:
- NEW STUDENTS will be evaluated by Dr. Germany in a paid evaluation lesson to determine potential inclusion in the Studio.
- After evaluation and acceptance, you may register your student at drg.mymusicstaff.com
- Turn in your signed/initialed contract along with your registration fee.
Attendance:
Regular attendance is an integral part of Dr. Germany's Music Studio. The following guidelines will be observed.
- The student is expected to be prompt to all scheduled lessons.
- The instructor will give a maximum of two make-up lessons per semester for EXCUSED ABSENCES.
- If it becomes necessary to miss, please notify the instructor as far in advance as possible by calling 214-914-6122

Cancellation must be given 24 hours in advance, otherwise full payment is expected without rescheduling.
- The instructor is not required to give make-ups for uncancelled or unexcused absences.
Student Expectations:
- Each student is expected to spend at least one hour per day for a minimum of five days in preparation for weekly lessons. *A consistent pattern of inadequate preparation for lessons may result in termination of instruction at the discretion of the instructor.
- Specific assignments will be given in each weekly lesson, along with directions for proper rehearsal techniques.
- Each student is expected to maintain a performance notebook including
- Weekly practice logs – unless these are recorded in an online recording format, as determined by your teacher.
- Any recital programs.
- Regularly updated repertoire list.
- Assigned reading or written assignments/critiques/etc.
- Copies of music for self and accompanist.
- Other materials as individually assigned.
- Each student will bring their own pencil and music to the weekly lesson.

SAFETY ADAPTIONS THAT CAN BE ENACTED IN THE CASE OF COVID-19 OUTBREAK AS IN 2020 (approved by Dr. Germany's primary care physician):
- Students must confirm with instructor at the start of each lesson of the following:
- They have no elevated temperature.
- They have not been out of country, or out of state for the previous 14 days.
- They have no current cold/flu symptoms.
- To the best of their knowledge, they have not been exposed to anyone with Covid-19
- Use provided hand sanitizer before beginning lesson.
- If any of the above cannot be assured, the student will not be allowed to take the lesson.
- Dr. Germany can provide the following, if needed:
- One hour gap in schedule between students, in order to allow for
- breath particles to dissipate from previous student
- sanitizing and disinfecting all surfaces in studio with which the student would come in contact (music stand, door knobs, table, chair, shelf). This is done with an EPA approved disinfecting agent.
- A plastic curtain separating instructor from student area.
- 6' social distancing area marked on floor, behind which area the student remains
- Instructor wearing KN95 mask throughout entire lesson.
